Panasonic HX-WA2
Panasonic is bringing back the "pistol grip" style camcorder with its new waterproof HX-WA2 camcorder.
Apple iPhone 4S
Video recording features and capabilities are rapidly improving on cell phones, and the new iPhone 4S is the first iPhone from Apple to include a Full HD 1080p record mode. If you're in the market for a new camcorder, going out and buying the iPhone 4S is probably not the brightest idea. But, if you already own the phone, it may be perfectly suited to fulfill all your video needs, thus making the purchase of an additional camcorder unnecessary.
Samsung HMX-W200
The Samsung HMX-W200 is a compact and waterproof budget camcorder that showed us some impressive results in our testing. The camcorder retails for around $159 and can take 5-megapixel still photos in addition to recording Full HD video.
GoPro HD Hero2
The GoPro HD Hero2 is part of a new class of camcorders that is still searching for a definitive name. Some call them "hands-free" or "mountable" camcorders, while others prefer the terms "wearable" or "adventure-cams". The Hero2 is all of those things, and it can record Full HD 1080p video or capture 11-megapixel still images with the click of a button.
Sony MHS-FS3
We've put the new Sony 3D Bloggie through the ringer, to see if this little camcorder can match up to the other 3D cameras we have tested so far.
Sony Touch MHS-TS10
The Bloggie Touch MHS-TS10 ($179 MSRP) is Sony's newest ultracompact camcorder, and its name should give you a hint about its key feature—a 3-inch touchscreen LCD. The Bloggie Touch isn't simply an upgrade over last year's Bloggie camcorders from Sony (the MHS-PM5 and MHS-CM5), it's a completely different camcorder with unique features and a stylish design.
Kodak PlaySport Zx5
The Kodak Zx5 is a second-generation version of the company's popular (and waterproof!) PlaySport camcorder. Instead of beefing up performance or features on the new model, Kodak decided to keep things simple and make small improvements—like cleaning up the menu system and adding a simplified "sharing" feature that makes it easier to upload your videos to YouTube.
Sony Live MHS-TS55
The Sony Bloggie Live MHS-TS55 has one unique feature that sets it apart from the other ultracompact models on the block—WiFi capability.
Kodak PlayFull Ze1
The Kodak PlayFull Ze1 is a tiny camcorder with the ability to record Full HD 1080p video. In addition to being one of the smallest camcorders we've ever reviewed, the PlayFull's $129 price tag also makes it one of the cheapest.
Panasonic HM-TA20
The HM-TA20 is Panasonic's newest attempt at a waterproof ultracompact camcorder. The model did a decent job in our performance tests, but it didn't handle all that well and it was surprisingly difficult to use. The camcorder is available in blue or orange and currently retails for just under $200.
Contour Contour+
The Contour+ is not an ordinary camcorder. It's a compact, rugged, mountable camcorder that can record HD video at a variety of different resolutions, or take continuous 5-megapixel still photos—but it lacks an LCD or visual display, so framing and viewing your videos can be a complex process.
GE DV1
We haven't reviewed a GE (General Imaging) product in a while, but get ready for the DV1—a cheap, waterproof, ultracompact camcorder that may be an answer for those on a tight budget. Don't bite before reading our review, though.
