View Full Version : Hidden Jvc Br-dv3000 Menu
Lou Bruno
Want to use your mini-dv in LP MODE on the JVC BR-DV3000?
PRESS "PLAY" and "STOP" then tap the "EJECT button."
You will now see a hidden menu just like my JVC GY DV5000's hidden menu.
Go into VTR2 via the PLAY button and change the LP WARNING to OFF via using your pause button or remote control. It appears that placing the mode to LP REC also may produce up to 6 hours of recording time on a four hour tape.
Another hidden menu can be viewed by pressing the REWIND, STOP and FAST FORWARD BUTTON. While pressing them in simply tap the EJECT button.

Lou, This one I wish you wouldn't have posted. LP is nothing but trouble.
Remember that LP has a track pitch of 6mm versus the SP DV pitch of 10mm. At 6mm it is not possible for these mechanisms to reliably play LP tapes from other devices. And more important, if you record in LP and someday your camera or deck is serviced and aligned, there is no guarantee it will still play your older tapes.
Yes, some people insist on doing it and it does work for them. But you are just begging for heartache.
That is why we hid the menu selection.

Point well taken................I actually discovered this procedure from another poster. It seems a great way to archive for up to 6 hours. However, your suggestion has much merit......................so users BEWARE.
Thanks

No, with Streamcorder is simply unusable... However thaks for the tips. I have many tapes which was recorded in LP with an old Sony PC1. Now I can use the BR DV3000 to look at it!
