I've noticed an intermittent problem with my camera since I installed the DR5000 from FireStore. Every now and then I experience an intermittent 'loss of signal' display in the viewfinder when switching between 'CAM' and 'VTR' with the mode switch. It seems to happen every time if the 'CAM' has timed out and shut down automatically and you flip the MODE switch to VTR and back to restart the camera. The really bad news is that this glitch can result in no video being recorded to the disk or the tape with absolutely no failure indication. Everything looks normal while recording but you find no video on the tape or HD later on. All of the files are there and the tape is TC'd but nothing but black refence signal is there. Audio can't be heard at normal speed but can be heard during FF. Removing the DR5000 from the equation resolves the problem so it definitely appears to be a device compatibility problem. I love the camera but the addition of the HD has only increased my stress level rather than making me more confident that I've captured my shot.
