when you say "see it in a computer" do you mean:
1. in your editing program
2. after making a DVD and playing on a computer or
3. via a NTSC to VGA convertor?

It was the first time that I do it and I did not compres the video. It was in avi.

Classic headclog.....run your headcleaner for 5 seconds.

Could it be that you're not used to seeing interlaced video on you computer monitor?
Does the image look fine when you play it directly from your camera into a TV?

Ok, Doug, when I watch in a monitor TV the image is not good, but the white line dont appears. In a computer the color are better, the image is so good, apart from the white lines. Maye it can be because the Tv is analogic ande the computer digital? I think you are rigth, my video is interlaced and the monitor is progressive. If it is the case how can I fix it?

If the image is OK when played on your TV through your camcorder, but you have white lines when you replay the captured avi, then the likelihood is that you had dropped frames during capturing.
As Lou mentioned, clean your heads and then try recapturing the footage.
True, your computer monitor is deinterlaced and your CRT is interlaced - so you'll notice that footage shot on a 60i or 50i camera is slightly jerky on a computer monitor, but smooth on a TV. You do not fix this, there is nothing wrong.
If you're into making your footage look like film, then you'll probably be deinterlacing your footage anyway.
Don't ask about deinterlacing/interlacing here - do a google search, hundreds of articles about it out there...

Is this it?
Hey, I'm not the original poster in this thread, but - I'm having the exact problem shown in the picture you attached. What is the solution to that problem?

A professional head cleaning.

Okay, that makes it sound like I need something more than a cheap head cleaning kit from Radio Shack... What should I expect to pay for a "professional" head cleaning and where would I go to have it done?
This camcorder is only 3 months old and I've only recorded maybe one hour of footage on it so far (I've only used 2 different tapes). Please tell me I'm not going to be needing professional head cleanings every 3 months!
I'm going to pick up one of those cheap head cleaning kits and give that a try unless you're certain I'd be making a mistake...
Thanks!

Zak,
I have been having the same problem. My 5000u is about a year old, but has very few hours on it. I have run the head cleaner four times now trying to get rid of these dropouts. I'm beginning to wonder if it's not a tape tension problem instead of head clogging. It seems to happen most frequently when going from pause to record. I can always tell when it happens because the time code resets to zero.
I am extremely disappointed with this and I can't believe it happens so frequently on a camera that is suppose to be professional. I had a Sony DSR-300 that I used for about three years. I bought a head cleaning tape for the Sony but never needed it. In fact, I never took the wrapper off the cleaning tape until I got this JVC 5000u.
I'd like to know how common a problem this is with JVC cameras. I've seen it happen on my friend's JVC 550 as well. Makes me very uneasy now because I can't trust the camera...not good when you make your living shooting video.

Try a cleaning tape first. If it persists, you will need a professional claeaning of the entire transport system.
NEVER MIX TAPE BRANDS!
