Sony pc350 Battery Question

I received my pc350 yesterday. It comes with a docking station to charge the battery and attach to a computer/tv. I want to confirm my understanding that I can leave the pc350 in the docking station (with the docking station plugged in to the power outlet) and basically let the pc350 "charge" for days (if I'm not using it) without damaging the battery. In other words, since I have the docking station on my desk it is more convenient to "store" the pc350 on the docking station when I am not using it. I want to make sure I am not damaging the battery by doing this. Thanks.
