Will my DV tapes from my TRV-900 work in my new camera?

I currently have a TRV-900 camera.

I was looking to get another camera. Maybe a Canon GL-2.

Will I still be able to play my movies shot on the Sony in the Canon camera?

I would need to do this to be able to send the movies to my PC via firewire.

Any thoughts on this?
