Trying to digitize using JVC camcorder

Can anyone help? :confused: I have AVID DV Express and I've been trying to digitize using my JVC. For some reason AVID is not recognizing my camcorder. I've been having to use another program, Windows Movie Maker, to digitize my media. For some reason Movie Maker recognizes my camcorder, but AVID does not. Is there a driver that I need to download or is there a setting that I need to switch? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are going to have to be a bit more specific. It sounds like you are trying to pass an analog signal through your JVC to your computer.

Are you using IEEE-1394 (commonly called Firewire or i.Link) to transfer your video from your camcorder to your computer?

What model of JVC are you using?
