I have just bought the DCR PC-1000 so I've been scanning this site for info. I found a link that kenrippy had posted on one of his threads, so take a look... I just managed to connect my cam with the pc yesterday, afetr I bought a firewire. It's pretty simple. I havent shot anything in good light yet, but from what I've read the image quality is really good...

Yeah, that's mine. I was messing around with Adobe Premier Pro and adding a music track to the video. So far I'm really happy with the camera, but the true test will come when we have our baby in a couple months.

And here's a test of possible motor noise in a quite room. There was a washer and dryer going on the other side of the wall from this room (garage) so if you hear anything it's probably that.
