View Full Version : USB Driver Problems VL -Z3U

Hi

I have recently purchased a VL- Z3U from ebay and I cannot get the USB driver installed into my XP computer.

The pc says the information needed to install the hardware is not available from the cd rom provided. I have also used the driver provided on the Sharp USA website, but it comes up with the same message.

I would appreciate some help on this as it is driving me up the wall.

thanks

I just looked at the Sharp USA website. I was not able to find the correct driver for your discontinued camcorder. Also note that the USB driver is ONLY used to download STILLS from the SD card - you can't capture video via USB.

I did find these instructions... Note - you must be logged in as admin to install the driver.

Installing the USB Driver
For installing the USB driver in Windowsb XP or Windowsb 2000, you need to log in as the system administrator.
1 Turn on the PC.
• Do not connect the camcorder to the PC with the USB cable at this point.
2 Insert the supplied CD-ROM containing the USB driver into the CD-ROM drive.
• The Setup screen will display automatically.
Digital Still Camera Features
3 Click the “USB driver” button.
• Welcome screen appears.
4 Click the “Next” button.
• Information screen appears
5 Click the “Next” button.
• Installation begins.
6 Confirm the message on the screen, and then click the “Finish” button to complete
the installation.
Note:
• If your computer gives you the option to restart, you may do so.

Hi

Thanks for the reply and your efforts. I have not explained my problem properly.

I have the instructions and a disc to load the driver. The file I have is a Notepad file and my pc does not recognise the information on it.

Would the Pix Lab software help?

Or can anyone help by providing me a loan of their disc?

thanks
