I need help making a decision! Seeing that you all are using the DCR TRV38/39 Sony model you may have pros and cons with this model to share with me. Which camera is the best between these Sony models->
DCR HC32, DCR TRV39 or DCR TRV22? I have all 3 now and can not decide which to keep!

Brief background:
Bought my first camera the DCR TRV22 June 2004 had fun using it and making really cool movies w/ visual studio software. January 2005 took my camera to Kauai and I got hit with a rouge wave  and both the camera and I were taken out… camera got wet and the damage was not covered by my Best Buy additional insurance that I purchased when I bought the camera 6 mo earlier. (BIG SURPRISE “NOT”)
So February 2005 I bought the DCR HC32. Liked the smaller size but after I have been getting more advanced in my movie making & editing I found the sound qualities were not consistent to my needs. It was then I found out this camera had limited upgrade accessories because of the boot issue on this camera. The DCR TRV22 had many more accessory options with microphones and lights etc…

So decided I would buy another TRV22 from Ebay it’s like brand NEW and then I would give my Son the other camcorder HC32 this Christmas. After really researching a bit more I realized I should have stepped up the model decision for my needs. I found a DCR TRV39 on Ebay new with everything actual box & accessories and it only had maybe 3 hours of use. I bought it as well thinking I would give the TRV22 camera to my daughter this Christmas to keep it even between the kids. Now I have all three cameras  and I found this site and started reading all the reviews…

Now I am wondering if the HC32 is better than the other two cameras!
:o I just want to make sure that I keep the BEST camera and one that will best grow with me in my future movie making ventures. I had made a really AWESOME movie from my 20 year reunion & from that production I have been hired to film and produce many other events from weddings, birthdays, reunions, etc… My hobby has blossomed into a business.

THANK YOU ;) FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS AND DIRECTION IN THIS DECISION!

melissap,

Welcome to the forum. Check the reviews of those 3 Cams on this site. That should answer your Questions about which one to keep. I've got lots of stuff to share about equipment I've fabricated and use for the things you're planing to do. I've done all those, and then some.

If you're in the KC or Topeka area send me a PM, maybe we can get together. Otherwise send me E-Mail Address by PM. I can send photos of equipment I've put together to make things easier.

Harold
