600 vs. Old Sony DCR-TRV11

I am thinking about buying the new 600. Will I notice a big difference in the video quality vs my 4yr old Sony TRV11? What has changed to make the video that much better?

Part of me says wait for a HD model but when will the HD models be more of a consumer size (similar to 600)?
