View Full Version : BESCOR LIGHTS: Whats the differences?

Singh
I am interested in getting a bescor light to mount on my gs65, but there are a couple of different ones, although they appear the same. Does anyone know the difference between the mx600, and the mx601? They are both 20/40 watt, and look the same except the glass cover on the 600 looks more clear. Look about half way down the page on this link:

Also, if you look at the bottom of the follwing page, its shows them both, same price, just a different # (mx600, mx601).

I also see that on the next page it shows the 623 and 623d, again...the difference? Which one is better for all-round video (indoors in a house, at wedding etc)? Thank you for your help guys!!!

I think the difference is that the 601 has a diffuser and the 600 doesn't. The entire 600 series is pretty much the same with various options. There are different setups for the light wattage and there are different battery packages that come with them.

IMO the main thing is to get the battery charger that automatically shuts itself off. It's a very good thing to have. I like having a diffuser myself too.

I chose the setup with a 20 watt bulb combined with a 10 watt bulb. Looking back now I would probably have went with two 20 watt bulbs. The 10 watt bulb just isn't as powerful as it needs to be IMO.

Thanks for your reply King Ghidora...i think i'll go with the 20/40w one with a diffuser.
