I just finished a tripod-shoot under "full-spectrum fluorescent tubes" while I did a portrait painting. My intention was to speed it up greatly in Final Cut Pro (Mac) so that it's only a few minutes of watching-time so a student or other interested party might be able to see a painting "come to life."
In my first attempt, I get a very slow "flicker" -- so slow that it actually appears to be a slowly ramping up and down lighting situation at normal speed. Spead up, it is a very annoying flicker. I am concluding that it is because of the 60hz "beat' of the fluorescent tubes being just slightly out of sync with the shutter speed of the camera, or something like that.
*** Please see this 2.7MB Video of my painting procedure (http://www.DarrowArt.com/forums/PaintingStart2.mp4) for the sped-up version. [Quicktime 7 or higher required. It is formatted in H.264].
Is there anything I can do with the TRV-38 to eliminate this "pulsing"?
