View Full Version : DV5000U Pixel Concerns?

jtarkington
Im looking at purcashing a second DV5000 that is used with about 5 hours on the drum and about 10 hours of being powered on. There is one tiny pixel problem on the CCD's that is visisble when the CCD correction is turned off, BTW I have let the camera warm up from about two hours before checking. When CCD correction is enabled the bad pixel does not even show at 18db of gain. Is this a major issue? Is it common to see pixel issues? I bought my first 5000 new and had to get them to send me two other cameras before I didn't seen any pixel problems which makes me think this is some what normal. The shooting that I perform requires no gain, how offen do you guys uses gain and when?

Thanks for any input,
Jeff

If you don't see it at 18db, then you are OK.

Hi Jeff,

I usually set gain to be -3db if I get plenty of light.
