View Full Version : Variable DOF on AG-HVX200 ??

Hi folks,
I don't have the AG-HVX200 yet, but I read somewhere that it has a variable Depth Of Field. Not even understanding how it could be possible I got really excited about it. So, you wouldn't have to buy a mini35 or other crap like that, the cam will do the different DOF even on non-interchangable lens with only 1/3 inch chip. Awesome!
Now, here's the question: IS IT TRUE?
Does anyone have the camera, and could confirm or deny this variable DOF thingy.
Thank you.
Andrew

Never heard of it. You can vary the DOF on any camcorder by changing the iris opening. But, you aren't going to get 35mm shallow DOF on a 1/3" CCD camcorder.

What you probably heard is variable frame rate. The HVX200 is a Swiss army knife camcorder. It shoots everything you can think of and want to vary manually.
