Filter for Optura 50 (filters in general)

I'm looking for a basic filter to give my video a softer look (just a little bit more like film). Would this filter be comparable to a Tiffen Pro Black Mist filter? I'm not even sure which type of Tiffen filter I could use, but everyone seems to recommend them?

The Black Mist should soften the video. Of course, you could do it in your NLE and have the added advantage of being undoable. If you shoot with the filter there's no undoing.

The ND filter you linked to is not the same thing. A ND is used to cut down on light so you can open the iris wider than it would be so you can get a shallower depth of field and keep the same exposure.
