3 Questions

1. How do you do a wash in/out (fade in/out with white) in FCP...I've tried all the dissolves and none do it...

2. In compressor you have the option of selecting All, AIFF, Dolby or Mpeg2...if I want just one of the audio options in addition to the Mpeg2 what do I select?

3. I can't get my screensaver to activate when Compressor is running...is there a way to do this and on a sidenote, is damage actually done to an LCD monitor if you never use a screensaver?

I have not done a wash in FCP, but I think you can adjust the color once you select the transition. Just select fade in/out and then change it from black to white.

In Compressor, you can select each one of those individually, or you can select all and delete the ones you don't want.
Select all, then click on the one you don't want and press delete/backspace.

The screensave is not really important. Older monitors used to have a "ghosting" problem if they were left on for too long. Monitors in recent years do not have this problem. Screensavers are more for fun and looks nowadays than anything else.
