More zoom than 24X

Is it possible to zoom optically the Sony DSR-PD170 more than 24X ?--Now using a 2X telephoto lens screwed into the regular fixed lens the camera came with. Need to zoom in with more power if possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks to all.

You can get more powerful teles. I've seen 2.5x and 3x. I'm not sure if there are more powerful units. With that cam I'd say stick with only the best makes such as Century Optics.
