View Full Version : Copy from HC1 into Panasonic DMR-EH65?

I have a Sony HC1, and want to copy into my hdd-recorder Panasonic DMR-EH65, and get the picture quality as good as possible. The recorder has got s-video in, DV in, and RGB in (via scart), so what would be the best way to connect the camera? Is it possible to get a cable from the HC1 with a scart out?

Your Panasonic recorder is a upconverter for standard definition video, to psudo High Definition. You might want to try using the Firewire port or the or the SVideo input on your recorder to input video. I don't think you will be able to record High Definition. You probably will have to down convert the video in your camera to Standard Definition video to be able to record it.

Yes, I am aware of that I can't record HD into the recorder, but I was thinking of the best way to connect the camera to the recorder to get the best result. There are no firewire port on the recorder, so I wonder if I should use DV in, S-video in, or RGB in via a scart cable, (if that exists)?

From what I can tell from the Panasonic website the DV input is the Firewire 1394 input. You need to check your manual to see which 1394 cable to use 4 pin to 4 pin or 4 pin to 6 pin.

If you don't have the cable use the S-Video/audio connectors.
