View Full Version : dv 500 vs dv5000

palman
ok heres the deal, i had a DV500 and even though i have tried the dead pixel thing, i still have a few it doesnt cure. So the long and short of it is i bought a ex demo model dv5000

Is it me or is it a fact that the dv500 is way better quality than the dv5000? by comparison the dv5000 is much much softer picture. almost as bad as the sony dsr300.

anywho, on both models, i am finding i have been getting afew dropouts. and they always seem to be when the camera, has been on pause for a while, or has been turned off. Say on the travel from one filming shoot to another.

the venetian blind effect, we all know it. sometimes it can two or three minutes to clear, of course i am totally unaware of it until i get back to editing it. I don't always get it,

I have been and always have been using panasonic tapes. Is it JVC don't like panasonic? and for the record i have tried most brands and i find no difference between any of them.

although i have been told it is better to stick to one brand as the lubricants and coatings will mess up the heads.

Needless to say i have lost some needed footage
