I am using VS8 but everytime I try to use the Album effects,it will not work.I`m using Windows XP OS Home Edition and I don`t know if the problem may come from my system. Also, everytime I open VS8,my computer will not shutdown properly unless I reset it and try shutdown again. Please, help me.Thanks in advance.

Hi rudyroks,
Lets be honest here, the album transitions in VS for version 8 and 9 are total pigs. Even if you did get them to work they take a lifetime to actually render and this is a known problem. In version 10 Ulead gave up on most of them and didn't include them in the program. Go to this site which is run by a very nice man called Stephan Burger and you can download a whole pack of free transitions that work beautifully in VS, just follow the instructions to install.

As far as the shutdown problem goes it is probably something VS is doing that is not stopping and the computer is hanging and to be honest the problem could be anything. It may not be VS but VS interacting with something in Windows. I would do a total clean up of the computer including defragging. get rid of everything you don't really need, video programs and editing are very complex and resource hungry. Then I would invest in a program to clean the registry and re-install VS8.

Hello lancecarr,

Thanks for the advise. As for the free transitions,I just download it and
I will use it on my next project.I won`t bother to use the Album effects anymore if even Ulead already got rid of it.For the shutdown problem I will follow your advise and see what happen.Bye!
