View Full Version : hELP with mini DVD editing PLEASE !!!

PIRATEWAKE
Hey guys, I dont know if this is a "noob" question so please dont bash me or be forum nazi's.

I have a panasonic camera that uses mini DVD's i dont know what program will work to edit it. I need a "sure" thing here. Something that is user friendly but wont mess up the quality of the footage.

Another question, and this may be dumb but, Will you get better quality footage from defferent kinds of dvd-r's ??

Oh and i think i'm recording on dvd-r i was using dvd ram but it wouldn't play in a regular dvd player so we stoped. Any info would be great....

The best app for editing mpeg2 files from a DVD camcorder IMO is Ulead VideoStudio 10. If you need Dolby 5.1 audio support, get the + version. Second best is Womble mpeg video wizard. Both will do smart encoding, and only re-encode the edited parts, leaving the rest in original quality.
You will not get better quality video from different kinds and brands of DVD -Rs, but the cheaper ones might freeze or skip in a DVD player, or refuse to work in the camcorder. Stick with the major brands.
DVD RAM won't play in a DVD player and a lot of PCs as well. DVD -R should play in most players and all PCs.
