Head cleaning message

I purchased a GS-150 thats less than 1 year old. When recording I am getting a message in the veiw finder that my head needs cleaning. My question is. Is this something I can do myself? Do the cleaning tapes work or do I have to pay the $100.00 to have a professional do it. I would appreciate your responses.

I think the clean tape will do just fine .
I haven't used in my camcorder yet, but i've used in my vcr and it worked well .
So try it .
