View Full Version : Problem With PP after format Windows

aikuo
Hi,

I am having a problem with PP after I format my laptop..
here is my situation(please excuse my English):

After I reformat my laptop, I use PP to export a video clip on my Sony DVD803.
Before I format my computer, once I connect DV to my computer, everything works great.
But right now, PP reads it as a DVD drive, not as DVD handyCam.
Here is a screen shot of the PP

As you can see the DVD drive (G: ), my laptop has only one dvd drive(E: ).
WHen I try the DVD HandyCam tab, click on both movie and picture, nothing come out,
When I try the DVD drive(G: ) , nothing happend too...
I am very sure I do have movies in the Camcorder, and I even try to finalize it, and try both ways, nothing works....

I am just about to give up PP, I am now looking for a new program.
The reason I like about PP is that, it can retrive a movie clip without finalize the DVD, it is very useful for me.

It would be great if anyone know how to solve the problem I have, or introduce me a new program would be great too, thanks!

I don't know but I think you may get more help from one of the computer type forums. Good luck.

If you look in Settings:ControlPanel:AddOrRemovePrograms, do you see both Picture Package and "Sony DVD Handycam USB Driver 2"?

If not, I would completely uninstall PP and then reinstall it, paying careful attention to the directions.

Did you re-install the Handycam drivers on the PC? It sounds like Windows is not recognizing the camera.

I too just reformatted my hard drive and PP did not work like it was supposed to. I had the same problem - I would click on Movies and Pictures and I would not see anything. I do not remember the exact process that I went through, but I do recall that the camera drivers did not install with PP.

Try the drivers.
