Hi

Take the tape out of the camcorder. Then it will stay on until it runs out of battery or forever if on power supply.

Good luck with your time lapse!

On the same note, WITH tape in camera, can the PAUSE time be extended and if so, does it cause any harm? I find that I pause the cam to give new scene directions and the camera then goes off too soon.. annoying.. No prewarn beep so that I could at least press record and pause again..

No the pause timeout can not be changed. It is preset to a specific time becuase if you left the tape paused in one position for too long the rotating video heads would wear down that part of the tape and either make the heads dirty and possibly go bad or damage the tape.

Ahh good point.. It's usually at that point on the tape that I will notice glitches when I turn off the camera and turn it back on to resume taping a few minutes later.. hence why I run a min or two of tape before and after I turn it off.. force of habit..

Thanks again
