GL2er
I know you are not suppose to swap tape brands with the same camera, but what about swapping tapes from camera to camera?
I have a GL2 which I would like to only use to record and a little zr500 with I thought I would use for playback functions in hopes of prolonging the life of my GL2's tape mechanism. Am I just doing another form of damage by swapping the tape to the zr500 to playback and capture and then putting it back into the GL2 to record? I'm thinking of things along the lines of differences in tape tension, but they are both canon cameras.
Any advice??? I'm using TDK tapes (if that can possibly help) and I only re-use tapes a few times after capturing them, rewinding them in the zr500, and then recording with the GL2.
...follow up question.... can there be quality loss from using an inferior camera to capture the footage to the computer, or is this a "digital is digital" scenario?
thanks
eric
