Buying inexpensive batteries on eBay

Hello,

I recently purchased my first GL2 last week from B&H. I will be using this camera for hobby and just plain old fun purposes only, I dont plan on starting a business with it. That being said I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the very inexpensive batteries on eBay. I purchased a BP-945 8100 mAh 7.2v battery for $15 to try out. If it is total junk than nothing lost but $15. The battery nor the camera has arrived yet, delivery date is Monday for both.

Are these less expensive batteries the same as the factory Canon batteries. My hope is that it is like going to the dealership and paying $180 for a fuel filter when you can go to the auto parts store and get the same thing for $8 bucks.

Any help and input is greatly appreciated.

These batteries are usually not as good as the brand-name ones, but they'll usually give you at least an hour or so of recording. For the price of a Canon battery, you can get several cheapies and have more recording time for your money.
