Their is no such thing as a good or bad NLE as long as you keep working in native definition the NLE is not supposed to harm your footage.

Now for HD support you have many NLE's that now support HD you should be more specific on you're needs and what kind of output you are expecting etc....

recently i m confusing from my friends, one of friend told me that if a computer hardware (processor,RAM) too slow may cause data missing during tranfer data from camcorder to PC! But the other said software is the problem??? who are right???

NLE is Non Linear Editing this is what all video editing software are by comparaison to linear editing hardware that used to be the case before the introduction of cmputer into video editing.

now concerning the importance of harware in the capture process yes it can be due to a slow disk or an old processor or both. I don't know the influence of RAM in the process.

I've used Magix' Movie Edit Pro (about $60-$70) for many years and love it, but it won't be supporting HDV (in the U.S.) until sometime this summer, according to Magix.

However, I very recently learned that Serif's Movie Plus (www.serif.com) supports HDV now, so I've ordered it. It does include some kind of DVD writing, but I don't know if it includes writing HD format on a regular DVD (assuming that you can do that and get something that will play as HD). Serif makes some very good image processing software at reasonable prices, so I expect this should be a worthwhile editor, although I do plan to upgrade my Movie Edit Pro when the HDV version of that is available. Right now I want to at least try working with the HD output of my HC3.

I expect to receive Movie Plus in the next few days.
