View Full Version : Audio and image not in sync

m394byt3
I use Pinnacle Studio SE 10.6 (only installed from CD, not yet upgraded on the internet).

My original video clip (*.wmv format) works perfectly when I play it(through winamp, media player, etc).

When I add that same WMV to my ALBUM in Pinnacle, it automatically split the clip into several small clips. When I play any video clip (with the preview player on the right), it works perfectly.

BUT

When I add that SAME clip to my storyline (at the bottom), then preview, the audio is not in sync with the video. The audio will play, then the movement of say the persons mouth. I thought maybe it will play correct after I final output to MPEG, but no, in the output MPEG file it is NOT in sync.

Please help much appreciated!

EDIT- I HAVE LAPTOP DELL INSPIRON 6400 512MB.

sadly it's in the nature of MPEG2 that these 'out of sync' problems arise.

i've had the same trouble in both Pinnicle and Uleads editing software.

All i can suggest is update Pinnicle to 10.7, though when i did this i found that the video picture had this odd quirk wherein you can see horizontal transparent 'bars' across your footage. maybe it's just me, with the raw material i use....maybe....

It's already been some time since I began working with Pinnacle software. Studio --whichever version it is-- has always been to me like a "box of surprises".
I have used several versions and upgrades of that software, and with no apparent reason or explanation, sometimes after a new installation it has worked like a clock mechanism, while some others I have faced the same problem of yours, and sometimes others even worse.
The only solution that --very sadly-- I have found after an unlucky installation, is ..........yes, you guessed........formatting and installing everything new.
This could sound very nonsense, ilogical, and many other things. But the fact is that after formatting --only in case I was unlucky with the Studio installation, of course-- and reinstaling exactly the same programs, drivers, Windows updates, codecs, etc,. in my PC, I could have been gifted with the correct functionality of that software.
Bad news from me, but this is my experience.
Regards.
