View Full Version : Shotgun Microphone with DVC30

I just bought a Sennheiser shotgun microphone to use with the DVC30, but only one channel reads it. Is there a way for both channels to read one microphone?

Hi
If you put the mic into the XLR adaptors Input2, and then chose "Ch Select CH1-2" on the switches you should have the output from the mic on both channels.

Okay, but the shotgun plugs into the 1/8 " microphone jack. I had never seen a shotgun mic that has this kind of plug before, but i got it for Christmas. It is the MKE 300 model.

Just go to radioshack and buy a 1/8" mono to 1/8" stereo adapter. The mic has an 1/8" mono plug on the end. you just need to adapt that to a stereo plug and it'll record on both channels.

Okay I'll try that. I also have a Nady 401-X Lavalier system, which has a stereo plug (I had to buy a 1'4 " to 1'8" stereo adapter) and it still only records onto one channel. However, there is a radio interference that comes in on channel 2.
