View Full Version : Can you shoot in Frame Mode on a PV-GS180?

RickOutlaw
I have a Panasonic PV-GS180, that I am using to shoot content going on a website. I need to also capture still images on it, that are somewhat high quality. It was suggested to me to shoot in progressive mode (full frame, not interlaced), but be sure to change the aspect ratio from the 720x480 that it comes off the camera to 640x480... I have yet to be able to figure out how to shoot in progressive mode on this camera and have been told the camera only shoots in Interlaced. Is there anyway to do this with this camera, and if not is there any other suggestions for improving the quality of what I shoot on Mini DV and what I pull off the footage for screen captures?

Thanks

Rick

Rick,
The GS180 does not have frame mode or any other kind of progressive mode. To pull frame grabs, play back the video and press the photoshot to SD card button at points where you want to grab a still. Then, you can remove the stills from the SD card. Those are as close to progressive shots as you can get. Make sure to set the photoshot size to 640x480.
