From Transcend's spec sheet, this 8GB class-2 SDHC has the 3.5 MB/s of minimum write speed (tested on PC with card reader). 3.5 MB/s ~ 28 Mbit/s, I think this should be fine on the maximum 24Mbit/s speed of AVCHD in the future.

All fine and good... but has anyone gotten an 8GB SDHC to actually WORK in their panasonic?
THere was an earlier thread, but it referenced a german user group and in the end, i think the guy was getting errors from the 8GB card.

I've just known from AVCHD forum that HDC-SD1 works well with 8GB SDHC card.

InsanelyOne
I'm using the 8GB Transcend SDHC cards with no trouble in my SDR-S150.

Hi InsanelyOne,

Nice to know that. Could you try recording continuously to 3-4GB and then see if it's still ok ? If it shows no error, try delete all and record again. Unless there's error, I think that's good to go.

Here's info Sektionschef heard from a German forum last year.

Have anybody used TOPRAM SDHC cards? Are they fast and reliable?

I am plannig to buy 8 GB SDHC memory card for my HDC-SD1 camcorder. I also need a card reader, so I can copy data to my laptop faster and more conveniently than connecting the camcorder and using HDWRITER software. My laptop does not recognize 4 GB SDHC card that came with the camrcorder.

Anybody have any experience with different brands of SDHC card and card readers? I did see some people had a good experinece with Transcend 8 GB card. Anybody else?

Thank you.
