Is there anyone using Premiere Elements 2.0/3.0 with MainConcept's MPEG Elements plug-in ?

It helps Premiere Elements 2.0/3.0 to support MPEG2 editing with smart rendering. But I'm not sure if this combo will work well with files from SDR-S100. Have anyone tried them before ?

The reason I'm interesting in Premiere Elements due to the Shadow/Highlight effect to solve the back-lit situation. (I was looking for this Photoshop tool. And Rich did show me that Premiere has it too.)

Btw, listed below from the FAQs of MPEG Elements

"Q: I've heard that it's impossible to do frame-accurate MPEG editing. Is this true?
A: No, this is a myth. The nature of MPEG does present special challenges, but our MPEG Elements plug-in works around those challenges and enables frame-accurate editing."

This sounds interesting.

I've download Premiere Elements 3.0 tryout (700MB) and MPEG Elements demo version (19.5MB). But I've not installed yet since the demo version of MPEG Elements does not support smart rendering :(.

Btw, Premiere Elements 3.0 is $50-60 after rebate but MPEG Elements is $66.

Perhaps, I could wait another 7-8 months to see if Premiere Elements 4.0 could support native MPEG editing and smart rendering. Then I might not need the $66 plug-in.

Hi
I think I have read somewhere that the plug-in demo adds a logo to the video and this deactivates smartrendering because the entire video has changed.

Thanks sektionschef. I do agree with you.

"NOTE: The demo version of the MPEG ElementsÂ*™ Plug-in for Adobe Premiere Elements is fully functional (no smart rendering). It possesses a video capture recording restriction of five minutes and adds a watermark to your processed videos, without affecting the source material."

I'll try to do some research to see if there're any complaints about this. Then I might give it a try with Premiere Tryout.

Just heard from a consumer review that Premiere Elements 3.0 tryout also adds watermark to the output :(

This makes me think again. Hope Premiere Elements 4.0 will integreate this feature into the package.
