Pass few week i had attend a VOIR workshop organize by Sony, i m the only person present the workshop so i ask some question on HDR-HC1.
Q1. Why they discontinue HDR-HC1?
A1. HDR-HC1 is targeting to home user and HVR-A1 is targeting to semi-pro user, but a lot semi-pro user bought HC1, because there are no much different between HC1 and A1. therefore, Sony need to change their market plan.
Q2. About applying Tele Lens and Wide Angle Lens on HC1.
A2. There are not much different for using normal grade Tele Lens, but for Wide Angle Lens are different story, if using normal grade Wide Angle Lens will make the picture dim!
Q3. Compare HDR-HC1 and HDR-FX7.
A3. Overall performance HDR-FX7 is better, just 15% different, but in term of prices HDR-HC1 is more worth!!! (we have cheaper and better quality camcorder)
