First of all let me say that i am able to playback AVCHD files from the HDC-SD1 using both Windows Media Player (with powDVD codecs) and Elecard mpeg player without any issues.
What i was trying to achieve was to playback the AVCHD files with bob or linear deinterlacing to achieve smooth 60p motion on my PC lcd monitor. WMP doesnt have any advanced options for manually applying any deinterlacing, while Elecard mpeg player has the deinterlacing option greyed out when playing AVCHD files, normally selectable with regular mpeg files.
So my question is:
Is there a way i can playback AVCHD files with deinterlacing on the fly without having to encode the files first? I tried to look for a deinterlacing tool for WMP but no luck. Im just trying to achieve fluid 60p motion (from 60i of the AVCHD) on my PC monitor. I can easily apply linear/bob deinterlacing to HDV files for smooth 60p motion, but AVCHD ... no luck, even though they play fine.
I know my hardware does not bottleneck any process as im running a C2D cpu @ 2.92ghz which usually averages around 50% usage during AVCHD playback in full screen 1920x1080 on my Dell 24" which is capable of 1920x1200/60.
Any help is welcome, if anyone was able to achieve any sort of manual deinterlacing with a raw AVCHD file during playback plz let me know.
Edit: Im aware that PowerDVD 7 Ultra is also able to playback AVCHD, however I need someone to confirm that manual deinterlacing can be applied for playback to achieve smooth motion before I actually pay for it and be let down.
Thanx.
