By useing one or the other, will it have any quality effect in the quality of the video I am taking.

Since light from the scenes you shoot must pass through additional layers of glass (or plastic, as the case may be), using a WA or tele will affect your exposure. It will reduce the amount of light reaching the imager hence it will take a wider aperture or slower shutter to give the same exposure as without the adapter. One ramification of this is that your cam will not perform as well in low light with an adapter attached as without but the difference is so slight as to probably not matter.

Finally, the quality of the optics in the adapter could have an effect on the sharpness of your video. This is more prominent on high def cams than on SD cams but it is quite possible to get a bad adapter and lower the quality of SD video, too.

Good luck.

The more glass you put in front of the sensors, the more glass the incoming light has to fight through to get to the sensors. Hence why you really want to check out the lenses before puchase.

I shoot with a DVC30 and WA lens. I do have to be aware of the need to bump up the exposure just a tad with the WA lens on the camera.

But if I shoot a scene with or without the WA lens on, zoomed in so that the scene composition (cropped) is the same for both instances, you couldn't tell which one had the WA on it. Quality counts in this case.

What about when using a telephoto lens. Should I bump up the exposure also a little?
