Hello All,

I am sorry that I am posting a question in a wrong thread! I was trying to post in a new thread but it didn't work. Here is my question. My JVC mini-DV camcorder had a problem with the "lens Cap" warning. It was fixed by JVC Canada and the unit worked for few times. Now when I turn it on, it is a black (dark) screen only. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.
Regards,

Jamal

I bought a used GRD430 that did this. I thought it was the lens cap error but it turned out to be the iris "doors" sticking closed inside. I took the camera apart and opened the iris "doors". The iris is on the assembly with the zoom motors and lenses. Its 2 pieces of plastic film that come together to block out the light. I didnt clean them however, and it sticks full open now. Its an extra camera so i use it mainly for indoors where it works fine and with a helmet cam setup. Outside in direct sunlight it is basically unusable.
