Hi guys, first post here...
I'm an Audio Tech at a dinner theater and I've been experimenting with recording some clips of our show with this Sony. I'm taking the audio signal from the console into the mic jack and have found a good level that records clean and works good. However, where I have to place the camera, I can't see the display so, I got the bright idea to use the AV out and just plug the composite video into a 13" TV that was available. It worked good as far as monitoring the video but, it had a detrimental effect on the audio. Whenever I plug in the AV cable into the jack, I get a very loud buzz on the audio.
I tried various combinations of connections, made sure all devices were plugged into the same power source, tried with the audio part of the AV cable plugged in and tried with it left hanging loose and nothing cut the buzz other than unplugging the cable from the camera.
I'm sure it has something to do with the AV jack being able to work as an input or output so, there must be a cable configuration I could make up to just get the video out of it and not touch the audio part.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Sonny
