dvc30 no longer available

It's no longer listed on Panasonics website; B&H no longer has it either - I'm sure there are still a few around for sale, but it might be a goner...

Do you smell something fishy??? Theres a $3,000 gap between the DVX100B and the HVX200. Could there be a baby HVX200 in store with P2 Capability? If they made one that was equivalent to the manual control of the AG-DVC30 with over and undercrank I would buy it in a heart beat. If they don't going going with the Canon XH-A1 but I would love to go DVCPRO HD to be honest.

Under and Overcranking allow you to adjust how many frames per second the camcorder captures to produce high resolution fast or slow motion video at the same frame rate of normal video.

For example if you overcrank you record lets say 200 fps, then when you play it back at 30 fps the video will be clear and perfect slowmotion without any post programs altering your original footage.

Yeah I agree but I wouldn't buy any P2 cards, I would buy a Firestore.

Yeah and it looks hot! Three 1/2" sensors and solid state recording is beautiful. Just a bit to high actually probably more than double of what I want to spend. I think I'm going to wait longer looks like technology is really heading in a good direction with solid state and that $3,000 gap in the Panasonic line is giving me warm fuzzy feelings of potential for a new pro HD camcorder release. I can only hope. If not I'm going with the Canon XH-A1. Such a nice camcorder just I'm not crazy about HDV.
