View Full Version : Push the reset switch

I have a brand new out-of-the-box Panasonic PV-GS180 which I bought in Canada and had shipped to India where I live. I have shot roughly two (2) hours and now every second time I turn it on and press record I get "push the reset button". Not a dew warning just this message which tells me nothing. I am an electronics technical engineer and will probably have to do my own servicing over here. What do I need to know about this error message? What are the codes?

You should take the tape out of the camcorder and try cleaning the heads with a dry cassette cleaning tape. If you want to go into the service menu, there is a procedure in the Wiki at Pana3CCDUser.com.

My trusty pv-gs120 died on me last week,it had been bumped to 2nd place because of my buying a DVC30,I guess it was ticked off at me .Anyways the zoom and focus both quit working, and I got a constant "push reset"
I decided it was destined to be my capture player, since the tape player still worked.I even went to Costco and picked up a PV-GS83 for cheap, because I need a 2nd camera sometimes.
Then I saw this thread last night and tried looking at the error codes, followed the instructions.....EXCEPT I had to see what this menu did ,I pushed buttons...well.... it was already broke.Lo and behold my zoom and focus were working when I was done....don't ask me?????
Now the wierd part,I was looking at the gs83 and tried the battery I last had in the gs120,just to see if they were the same, the gs83 turned on and immediately told me to "push reset",it would not get out of this mode, even with it's own battery back in.Well the GS83 went back to Costco today, and I decided to see if my gs120 will live for a while longer.Anybody think maybe this battery had anything to do with this?I'll check it with a voltmeter sometime just to see if that reveals anything.
