View Full Version : such thing as an angled lens?

rnitch
I was wondering if any company made an angled lens so that a comcorder could be angled compared to the lens assembly

here is a picture of a similar product but sadly it is about $9,000

i was looking for just an angled lens and it has to be more than 90 degrees
i already built a supporting structure for the camera, but i have no way to angle the camcorder compared to the lens
i have completed the tedious task of mounting a sony hc3 high-def cam to my structure along with creating an external battery pack on the structure and mounting the lens assembly
i have the angled part of the structure able to change angle with a pivot point, i just dont have an angled lens to use
any help would be appreciated

It is usually done with a mirror or a prism. A mirror being cheaper and easier but with an image reversal. Here are four examples:

But you say you need to go more than 90 degrees. You might have to build your own. I would use a front surface mirror. Here is one dealer http://www.fsmirrors.com/
