Why no HDMI

Hi All
I am just about ready to send my little HV20 I bought a few weeks ago back to B&H and swap it out for a XH-A1.
I fell in love with HDV in the first few min after watching it on my Sony 60" and I needed something more then the HV20 could give me .
I hope I am making right decision. One thing I don't understand is why does the Xh-A1 not have a HDMI out ??? How do you take full advantage of HDV if you can't output in HDMI. I have four inputs on Sony and HV20 had a HDMI output. It was awesome to watch. Component Video Composite Video was not nearly as sharp as HDMI .....Thanks ...... Will

You are correct the XH-A1 does not have HDMI terminals. I never saw an explanation why.

The DV video quality is the same.

Maybe the next generation model will have HDMI out. I like it on the Sony V1U. Especially when paired with a Black Magic Intensity card for transferring into the Mac as Apple Pro Res.
