on sony.com it shows under there specs that they are supported by a whole bunch of windows systems. i have an imac and wanted to know if i could put this video on my computer and use it with i movie

You should be able to use iMovie with Firewire to transfer your video.

If it has a memory card it is easier to use a card reader than the Sony software to get the still images.

You would not need to any Sony software. I don't.
