View Full Version : Longest Battery

What is the longest battery out there for this camera? I was really disappointed when the guy at Best Buy told me buy the extended 3 hour battery. When I got home the camcorder only recognizes it as an 80 minute battery and it was the same one that came with the camera. Does anyone know what the best kind of battery is to buy for this camcorder JVC brand or a different brand.

Thanks

Len
Hi

The Battery that comes with the cam is the 815, the JVC long play is the 823. 815= 1430 and the 823=2190 to 3300 plus, appox. on the amp hrs. Sounds like he sold you the wrong battery for long play. I also need to order some I'm getting mine from ebay or BHPhoto. I've had good luck with them so far on other cams .

See User's Guide, pp. 9, 16.

Avoid non-genuine batteries, JVC took certain measures to prevent third-party batteries from functioning. They may not work or may require a separate cable from the battery to DC input.

SpeedRhysr,

I have JVC BN-VF823U and I guess it is longest! I bought it from BH Photo, about $80, it is very nice! I always keep full charged batteries, one original supplied and another JVC BN-VF823U. You can buy same and you would be fine. With these batteries you can go out, I would suggest you buy two JVC BN-VF823U, and I am sure you will be so happy.

I would like to ask everybody in this forum, if some one would like to help me. I have Fuji S9000, Digital Camera, I have wide lens for same, and I tried to fit in JVC GZHD7, but it is too big for it. So I was keeping lens with my hand and did some shoot, but it was worst! I was able to get wide range of view; I was surprised of lens range! If I remove lens then picture was looking very close, and if I put lens it was great view! It is unfortunate that Fuji's lens is not fitting on it!

After feeling wide lens on my camera, I really need wide lens for my JVC GZHD7. Which we should buy? I seen one lens on Amazon, but it shows now out of stock!

Is there any way I can use my existing Fuji lens? it give me very good result when I put it on Fuji S9000, but when I try to put it on JVC GZHD7, then first of all its not fit on it, and if I try to grab videos by handling with my hand, it looks worst! What is wrong with it? If some one can tell me. Is it because it is 4:3 wide lens? Or because it is bigger than JVC's?

Thanks

Hi

You can get a screw adapter to down size it. from the s9000 size to the 46mm HD7 size . BH has them around 4.00 to $8.00. That is a way to see if it will work. If not there are lens out there for the HD7. I saw a shop that had the HD7 wide lens for under 200.00. that was the JVC Brand for the HD7. I think it was Adorama.com. I have bought from them before and had good luck. They are like BHphoto. and have been around for a long time.

Len,

Thanks for your reply, indeed I tried to find out screw adaptor to down size it, but not able to get. And I have doubt if I will get but it works or not! Yesterday I saw wide/tale lenses on www.amazon.com it was about $450, its huge amount! Maybe I would be interested in wide lens which is available at $190.

What is your feedback after attaching wide lens on JVC GZHD7? Did you upload your captured videos anywhere?
