View Full Version : GS 320 vs. GS200
Panasonic-man
I bought a GS200 a few years ago at its peak. It was a great camcorder. Half a year ago I misplaced it, and decided to get a 3CCD replacement, which was the GS 320. My problem is that I have found the GS200.
Between the two (GS200 was originally a $1,000 camcorder, with many bells and whistles) and the GS320 ($380 at J&R), which do people here think will give a better image quality?
I note that the image stablization that only worked on the GS200 seems to be always on on the GS320.
What do people here think? Which of these two should be my main camcorder going forward until something markedly superior comes along? Thanks.

Do you have both camcorders now? If you do you shoould be able to see the difference in quality...
I don't know what you mean about the image stabilization.

The GS200 only did stabilization in bright light.
I was wondering what people's experiences were. Doesn't seem like a lot of traffic on this board.

Choosing between W123 and W203, because W221 is out of reach. The problem has no solution.

Ah, a Mercedes fan!
I looked up the GS200 and saw that it only has 1/6" CCDs, so logically the low-light capabilities won't be any better than the GS320 and the quality should also be similar, the GS320 may be a little better because it is newer. What it really comes down to is what features you need. The GS320 has constant OIS and true 16:9, but no mic port. The GS200 has the mic and headphone ports but I don't think it has "true" widescreen.
If I was in your position I would keep both :)

I would also probably just keep both.
I have the GS500 and I vaugely remember the GS200 and GS250, but I don't remember the differences. The GS200 has a focus ring. It probably also had an audio input and a headphone jack.
Did you see the review here?
