GS400 aciting strange (Battery & Eject issues)

Hello folks,

I have a GS400 which I have now owned for about 2 years. It has recently started acting strange. First off, some times when hit the eject button to eject the tape, I can hear the mechanism but the tape does not eject. I usually close and open the cassette door a few times and eventually it will eject.

My second problem is on batteries. I have two batteries. One battery is the original batter it came with and the second is an extended (Panasonic no generic) extended battery. Most the the time, the original battery lasts longer then the extended battery. I get about 1-1.5 hrs on the original battery. The extended battery only lasts 1 hr on a good day.

Have any of you folks had any of these issues? Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Are you sure the extended battery is Panasonic made and not a knock-off? Can't explain that one.

The tape eject problem sounds like normal wear and tear. Thoroughly cleaning it may help, of you could get it repaired for a couple hundred dollars.

The battery is definitely a panasonic brand and not a generic. I know that for sure. I guess I will just purchase another one.

I do have a MAC warranty so I will reach out to them to have a look at the eject mechanism. Thanks for your reply.
