Hey,
I just got a panasonic hs9 and its my first camcorder and I was wondering about one of the settings. I think that this camcorder has a 1980x1080 60i and a 1980x1080 24p and I was wondering which one is better? Better quality and in the end id like to edit the footage.
thanks

In general the 60i is more suitable for most things, especially scenes with lots of motion. The 24p mode will be better for more still shots such as scenery or indoors with low light where low shutter speed is used. Also the 24p would be used if u were trying to make a movie.
Generally speaking, i would stick with 60i for 90% of the cases.

thanks for the info, do you think it's okay to mix them? I want to edit together a short movie of my road trip and id like to get the best quality possible. Would it look weird if one scene was 60i and 24p back to back?

It can depending on the scenes. However if u use 24p for static scenes then it will be hard to tell when mixed with 30p or 60i. Also depends on the crowd u know, i mean most people dont look out for things like that, they just watch the video, even if there is a slight motion stutter they wont tell or even care.
