export mpeg2 from vegas platinum

I've user the trial version forn 1 month and I find it easy and fast to use. But I am really disappointed about the missing of render option for mpeg2, no option at all (except the format). I've edited the same clip with premiere elements 4 and vegas, render as mpeg (using the best quality on premiere that has parameters to work with) and make a dvd. The clip quality from vegas is worst, colour seems to be washed out.
Is there anything else to improve the result?
Also the render as 720P HDV does not produce a progressive one.

Vegas DOES render to MPEG2 and does it quite well. However, MPEG2 is not available in the demo because it requires licensing fees.

The version I've tryed render mpeg2, with only few option (pal, ntsc, wide or normal screen....) but the custom button is grayed so there is no way to custromize it. I've asked to sony forum, and someone wrote me that custom option are available only to the pro version, not the platinum. Is it true or not??

Yes. The "Custom" button is only available in the Full/Pro version of Vegas. That's one of the disadvantages in the "lite"/Movie Studio versions over the full versions.
