I seems like Sanyo pretty much got slammed in the little I have found in this web-site. I am hoping it is just a learning curve for Sanyo as there newest product seemed to get a very nice review from Steve's Digicam site.
Hopefully we will see a full review on this site soon for the Xacti HD1000. I am still leary of the new format being used. It seems like it works ok in the cameras now but software companies are not geared up for this format on the consumer level. At least this is my understanding from some helpful answers to my posts and some researching on my own.
The new Sanyo does look promissing though. i had given the Canon TX1 a look but there are too many things I did not like about the camera. Maybe Canon will improve on the flaws. I thinking some decent hybrid cameras may be around the corner. i have heard rumors that the major players don't want hybrids for fear it will reduce sales, since we need to buy a seperate movie camera for good movies and a seperate still camera for good stills. If this is true, and I am a little skeptical that it is, then Sanyo may go after a potentially nice market share. At least I think I am not the only one that would like to combine good still and movie quality in one easy to carry around camera.
