Cannot Upload Content From GR-D850U to Mac

I've read the pinned threads and find no applicable material there.

I have a Mac laptop. I have a brand new DV cable.

When I connect my brand-new GR-D850U to my Mac with the cable, NOTHING happens.

The JVC customer service was terrible. So I don't know what to do now except ask you people for help.

I dont have a MAC but try this. Turn off everything (laptop and camera). Hook firewire cable to computer, power on camcorder, then power on laptop and see if it is seen now.

I can almost bet a hundred that your Macintosh is running on the PowerPC processing architecture. If so, then supposedly that is your problem. I tried plugging my JVC into a friends Intel based MacBook and within little than quarter of a second, the image was up. Are you running an iBook, or a PowerBook? My system is a PowerBook G4 17" 1.5ghz PPC based system with 1GB of ram and even with those specs, the damn camera won't recognise. My camera model is different. The JVC GR-D650AA but I can almost assure that its suffering the same issue. Question: What operating system are you currently running? If it is OS X 10.5+ then there might be a slight suspicion going on, because on the packaging of 'my' camera, it states nothing about support in regards to the 10.5 systems, albeit it did run on a friends Intel based Mac with that very operating system installed, it may just be the combination of the firewire and the system put together... Damn hell this reply is massive...
